War changes people. Art heals. Take a moment to share in the healing power of dance in a conversation with combat veteran Alfredo Hurtado, followed by a movement and writing workshop with Black Box Dance Theatre. Equal parts performance art and self-reflection, this workshop focuses on facing the challenges for veterans of mental health and the soldier’s experience.  Pictured below:  Michelle Pearson and Alfredo Hurtado of Black Box Dance Theatre

This event will demonstrate elements of and build toward WLI's upcoming Day of Dialogue, Democracy, and Dance for active duty military, veterans, and their families.
