He was a founder and is currently Quality Chairman of the National Orthopedic and Spine Alliance, which is creating the standards for collection and reporting of quality outcomes for orthopedic surgery while reducing healthcare costs to employers and patients. In addition to his role as a physician leader, he completed a two year term of public service as Mecklenburg County Commissioner at-large and recently led Charlotte’s efforts to host the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
