We are saddened to announce the passing of a beloved Friday Fellow, Dr. Sharon Elliott-Bynum. Sharon was an extraordinary person. As her classmate, Kevin Ginsberg said, "Some tiny fraction of percentage of people live their lives as the best version of themselves. Beyond them, there is Sharon." No truer words have been spoken. The impact of her friendship, her leadership, her vision is deep and broad and will continue on in all of us who were blessed to have shared time with her. Sharon said that the Fellowship was the most important experience of her adult life. She believed in it and and she lived out its ideals every day. Our Fellowship has lost a bright light.

Sharon was a true Friday Fellow. I met her 13 years ago and it changed my life. She asked me to mentor her and honestly I learned more from her than I modeled for her. Sharon was doing the work of a Friday Fellow long before I nominated her. While in the training she called me daily filled with excitement. Although I was in the class before her, it was as if we both went through twice. This Sunday, I am preaching a sermon called " A chance to make a difference" inspired by my spiritual connection with Sharon whom I will miss her the rest of my life. She is my motivation.
