Wildacres Leadership Initiative (WLI) is governed by a Board of Advisors constituted by the board of Wildcares Retreat, a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. WLI Board of Advisors members as of January 1, 2024 are:
Current Term Expires: December 2024 Danny is the President of Ellis Research and Consulting in Rocky Mount and teaches at East Carolina University. He is a member of the Friday Fellowship class of 2008-10. Board Committees: Steering, Organizational Development, Selection Current Term Expires: December 2025 Faith is the principal of the accounting firm Faith Bynum, CPA, PC. She lives in Raleigh and is a member of the Friday Fellowship Class of 2017-19. Board Committees: Steering, Marketing & Public Relations Current Term Expires: December 2024 Melinda is the director of UNC Hospitals Beacon Program and teaches at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work. She lives in Carrboro. Board Committees: Steering, Program Current Term Expires: December 2025 Alicia works to build collaborative engagements across the state. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Alicia holds two degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill, has previously worked in the Office of State Budget and Management, Administrative Office of the Courts, NC State University, and currently lives in Raleigh. Board Committees: Steering, Finance Current Term Expires: December 2026 Calvin is Senior Director for Rural Forward Programs at MDC and has 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. He lives in Raleigh and is a member of the Friday Fellowship Class of 2003-05. Board Committee: Organizational Development Philip is the director of Wildacres Retreat in Little Switzerland, NC and lives in Charlotte. Board Committee: Steering Current Term Expires: December 2025 Shannon is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Compassion Health Care, Inc. and Project Coordinator for the Caswell Chapter of the Health Collaborative. She lives in Caswell County and is a member of the Friday Fellowship Class of 2017-19. Board Committee: Finance Current Term Expires: December 2024 Jen is a senior strategist for uncompensated care with Cone Health. She has a background in nonprofit healthcare and philanthropy.
